We have no hesitation in recommending Andrew Lacey for your home renovations. Our renovation was a challenging one, the property was on a sloping block with limited access and large earthworks being required. Andrew saw solutions to the difficulties our renovation presented and assured us that with the right equipment and skill all was achievable, and it was. To further complicate our renovation we relocated to the UK in February 2009 just as the building works commenced. During the construction time we received weekly updates with photos and comments about the progress of the construction, these I have kept. At all times he kept us well informed and engaged. We had allowed 12 months for our renovation, it was commenced in mid February 2009 and was at lock up stage by mid September 2009.
The only difficulties we had with our project were with some of the architect designs and the subsequent variations having to be approved by council. These where not Andrews responsibility, though he did happily get involved and helped to find solutions. He liaised with council on variations and obtained approval with council on all. If he saw issues with our designs he would confirm our intentions and offer recommendations.
He has a can do attitude and is very personable. Andrew was professional throughout the contract, easily contactable and brought the right expertise at each stage ensuring a stress free renovation on what was a difficult job.
The project ran to budget, variates were identified and documented, we had no surprises at the end. We were realistic with our price expectations and budgeted for a high quality home, which Andrew delivered. We had obtained quotes before leaving Australia for a lot of our fixtures and fittings and where Andrew saw he could source them at a cheaper rate he did. He was alway very mindful of his clients dollar and where he could see a cost saving to be made with no reduction on quality he advised us. He has an eye for detail and takes great pride in his work. We were informed by our neighbours that the building site was always maintained in a tidy organised manner. Andrew was respectful of those living around the construction site and advised our neighbours of when deliveries were going to be made that would block the street to allow them time to move their cars, this was greatly appreciated.
